SSSD has an opening for a Mechanical Materials & Sciences Laboratories (M&SL) Planner to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.
The Materials & Sciences Laboratories department needs a planner with great organizational and communication skills to support the workflow in a variety of M&SL lab areas. The planner will be responsible for, communicating job status with customers and interpreting statements of work including technical and program requirements. The planner job duties will require creating and tracking of work orders in multiple systems such as SharePoint, SAP, Solumina, and other electronic databases. The M&SL planner needs to be adaptable and a quick learner to support the partnering electrical, mechanical, or chemistry labs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) proficiency are required in addition to excellent organizational skills.
M&SL Planner Job Duties:
Receives, routes, and updates electronic databases for incoming work to the lab area
Creates test plans based on customer Statements of Work
Verifies Statements of Work against Program and lab documentation/capabilities
Coordinates with other internal labs to fulfill testing needs
Facilitates the shipment of components to external labs as appropriate
Ensures work orders and electronic databases are up-to-date
Assists in maintenance and calibration of lab equipment by facilitating service and repair
Assists in procurement of lab supplies
Supports Lab Lead and Engineers as required
Additional duties as assigned by the Department or Section Manger
Basic Qualifications:
Associate's degree and 5 years' experience OR a Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience OR a Master's degree and 1 year of experience
Experience planning laboratory testing, or manufacturing planning or production planning
Proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience interpreting and applying lab policies and procedures
Process Improvement Skills
Experience with SAP
Ability to communicate effectively (written, oral)
Supply Chain or Quality Experience
Strong interpersonal skills
Laboratory experience
Salary Range: 61400 - 92000
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
