Job description
K1 is seeking a Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to join the Reporting team for our office located in Manhattan Beach, CA. We are seeking a candidate with strong analytical and communication skills, the capacity to multi-task, and the ability to work as part of a team. The Analyst will provide insights and recommendations on current and future performance to assist in our goal of building category leading Software-as-a-Service portfolio companies. FP&A Analysts will have the opportunity to work alongside CFOs at category leading software companies. You will be an integral team member working alongside the K1 FP&A team to drive insights into value creation opportunities, provide technical finance insights for our portfolio company finance teams, and act as a consultant to bring best practices to our growing companies. This represents a unique opportunity to join a dynamic Private Equity environment and work together with investment team and our portfolio companies to drive value creation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze portfolio company monthly financial results, review bank reporting packages, and evaluate cash forecasts
- Support onboarding of new companies into K1 processes and systems
- Support portfolio company annual budgeting process and model building
- Collaborate with the rest of the Reporting team to enhance and maintain operational finance best practices relevant for growth stage SaaS companies
- Assist in the ongoing improvement of K1 reporting practices; enhancing the information provided and the efficiency of its production through process and technology improvements
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis utilizing financial, operational and sales data
- Establish and maintain relationships with finance teams of the portfolio companies
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably with a focus in Finance or Accounting
- 0-2 years of Finance/Accounting experience, preferred
- Proven track record of going above and beyond on with required tasks at current position or educational institution
- Demonstrated an understanding of a company's financial close process
- Demonstrated interest in finance and desire to learn
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate at various levels of an organization
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
- Proactive and high-energy with a hands-on approach to problem solving
- Results-oriented, with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and expeditiously
