GRAIL is hiring a Director or Senior Director, Software Product Management who will play a key role in the development and execution of our product strategy. Our ideal candidate has significant experience in developing complex healthcare-related software, leading and growing high-performing software product teams, and working with cross-functional team members to ensure products meet user and business needs.
You Will:

  • Lead all aspects of the vision, strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle management of the software product portfolio (may include aspects of commercial, laboratory, clinical and data software).
  • Drive alignment around the product strategy and roadmap among key team members in the organization, including software engineering, commercial, lab operations, R&D, bioinformatics/data science, biostats, clinical development, medical affairs, quality, regulatory, legal, senior and executive leadership.
  • Recruit, train, manage and develop a team of software product managers and UX designers to deliver, succeed and grow.
  • Build product narratives that clearly articulate the motivation for the project, goals, and criteria for success, focusing on customer needs and customer experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on feature specifications, collecting/resolving requirements from all relevant partners, and making decisions about implementation and resource trade-offs.
  • Ensure that product releases successfully meet user needs and that key performance indicators for product performance are defined and met.
  • Ensure that product versioning considers current and anticipated market trends.
  • Demonstrate and communicate progress to key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop presentations, strategy documents, requirements documents processes and protocols that model industry best practices, and enable continuous learning and improvement.
  • Provide hands-on product management to support the business.
  • Occasional travel to stay apprised of market trends and understand customer needs.

Your Background Includes:
  • Motivated by making the world a better place through technology, and wanting to be part of a team that makes this happen.
  • BA/BS, Master's or PhD preferred, in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Bioinformatics or a related field and equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in software product strategy, product management, product development or related work.
  • 4 years of management experience with a demonstrated track record of building and scaling high-value teams and products.
  • Experience working in a start-up environment, leading complex strategic and operational initiatives, working through technical, operational, legal, regulatory and business issues.
  • Ability to prioritize, set goals and deliver results with a high emphasis on quality, technical rigor, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to model industry best practices in preparing deliverables (e.g. proposals, program plans, product requirements).
  • Background working in regulated healthcare environments.
  • Familiar with working in agile software development environments.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Excellent strategic and analytical abilities.
