Job description
**Sr. Scientist-Engineer, MSAT**
The Senior Scientist-Engineer, MSAT provides leadership and oversight of a team that is effectively delivering cell therapy services to clients in accordance with defined scope of work, timelines, and budgets. This includes leading multiple client programs in process development, technology transfer and continuous improvement of our client's novel manufacturing processes. Our goal is to support our clients in developing commercially viable cell therapy products, so that they can become accessible to all.
**Essential Functions and Responsibilities**
+ Accountable for leading a team that is successfully designing and executing experimental studies in the laboratory, for example:
+ Supervision and professional development of scientists/engineers and associates performing laboratory experiments for client projects
+ Developing effective training plans for scientists/engineers and associates
+ Creating and aligning project scope of work with clients
+ Review and approval of study documentation
+ Provide technical leadership of client products during manufacturing and development, for example:
+ Generating resource models for development and manufacturing projects
+ Direct technical communication with clients during manufacturing and development projects
+ Act as subject matter expert for client's product during manufacturing
+ Contribute to strategic planning and implementation for MSAT functions
+ Ownership of client experience in MSAT projects
+ Successful alignment and implementation of developed MSAT strategies
+ Advocating for the needs of MSAT to senior leadership
+ Managing resources across MSAT in collaboration with peers
+ Ownership of resource allocation within team and managing hiring needs
+ Collaboration with other departments to efficiently utilize resources in MSAT
**Qualifications**
+ Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in relevant life science or engineering discipline
+ Minimum of 5 years' experience in delivering technical projects in cell therapy or related industry
+ Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and related environments
+ Experience in supervision of direct reports is desirable
+ Demonstrated ability to deliver projects in a client service environment to specific timelines and budgets
+ Experience in working effectively and delegating tasks in a cross-functional and team based environment
+ Ability to deliver technical presentations internally and externally to clients and at conferences
+ Demonstrated ability in technical writing and the preparation of technical presentations and/or other communications
+ Basic understanding of the technical principles, theories and concepts of cell therapy or similar products
