Our team is solely focused on developing cures for some of the most challenging diseases facing our society. We are supported in this mission by experienced and accomplished scientists and board members, leading healthcare investors and some of the most innovative pharma companies.

Would you like to take part in creating new therapies that really make a difference in patients' lives? Do you desire both autonomy and collaboration in taking on scientific challenges that interest you? Be part of a hardworking team where everyone has a voice!

Use your scientific skills to help us achieve our mission of saving lives by curing neurodegenerative diseases.

Alector is seeking a candidate with experience purifying protein biomolecules. The successful candidate will have in-depth experience of industry-standard chromatography methods and possess practical knowledge of development. You will be in charge of purifying research biomolecules to support drug discovery efforts and support the development of product-specific, purification processes for Alector's lead molecules. You will identify and provide support for ongoing programs and your work will be central to Alector's strategic goals. You will be influential in championing and developing Alector's culture.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

    • Must possess a high degree of technical competence of industry-standard techniques and methods for the purification of antibodies such as: Protein A affinity chromatography, IEX chromatography, HIC chromatography, mixed mode chromatography, and UF/DF, TFF, and formulation unit operations
    • Strong organization skills in experiment recording and data summary with strong attention to detail
    • Apply knowledge and skill to independently problem-solve and devise new methods and/or optimize existing methods to purify difficult proteins
    • Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple work streams and deadlines, balance opposing priorities and communicate effectively
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential in our collaborative work environment

Responsibilities
    • Support in-house, large-scale material generation in support of non-GMP studies
    • Purification of murine and humanized antibodies, bi-specific molecules, and fusion proteins using single or multi-step chromatography step(s)
    • Support in reviewing and editing of various development reports like Process Descriptions, stability reports, and Purification Process Development reports
    • Executing Batch Production Records and following purification SOPs for large-scale purification workflows
    • Contribute to expanding internal development capabilities by researching new technologies and instrumentation, and staying current with industry trends
    • Design, execute and analyze complex purification development experiments with minimal supervision is a must
