Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will be an essential team member that is central to ensuring Amgens success in the Government Healthcare Markets including Medicaid, Medicare, 340B, and Federal Supply Schedule.
The outstanding role is part of US Value & Access, supports the calculation and submission of prices for Government Programs.
- Responsible for calculations and submissions of pricing related to Medicare, Medicaid, VA, 340B, and State Reporting.
- Review contracts to identify discount structures for Amgen products and prepare documents to support pricing submissions.
- Perform detail and summary analysis of monthly and quarterly calculation changes and optimally communicate drivers of changes to leadership team.
- Seek opportunities to streamline processes and gain efficiencies.
- Assess the adequacy of the risk management, control, and governance processes associated with team functions.
- Complete internal control processes crafted to analyze and validate data used with a particular focus on identifying outliers.
- Document policies, procedures, risks-controls, and findings.
- Provide input to Coverage & Pricing teams to educate on impact of contracting strategies on Government Programs.
- Partner with Information Systems to create and test business processes and systems that produce accurate and timely government pricing results.
- Assist auditors with SOX and other audit related activities to ensure compliance and accurate documentation of controls.
- Interact cross functionally with Contracting Operations, Trade & Distribution, Provider Contracting, Payer Contracting, Compliance, Internal Audit, Accounting, and Information Systems.

Basic Qualifications
- Doctorate degree
- Masters degree and 2 years of experience in either government pricing, commercial contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, auditing, compliance, analytics, and/or sales operations
- Bachelors degree and 4 years of experience in either government pricing, commercial contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, auditing, compliance, analytics, and/or sales operations
- Associates degree and 10 years of experience in either government pricing, commercial contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, auditing, compliance, analytics, and/or sales operations
- High school diploma / GED and 12 years of experience in either government pricing, commercial contracting and/or pricing, finance, accounting, auditing, compliance, analytics, and/or sales operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience applying conceptual rules against detailed quantitative data sets in order to report results (e.g. government pricing, financial statement preparation, GAAP, financial analysis, actuarial sciences).
- Experience modeling, analyzing, and validating large quantities of data transactions and drawing conclusions from that analysis.
- Extensive experience with Excel and other analytical toolsets.
- Familiarity with data mining, creating analytical models, and generating ad hoc reports.
- Demonstrated experience working as an agent of change within a dynamic organization including specific experiences in project management and lean process improvement.
- Knowledge and understanding of internal control frameworks, audit standards, or compliance protocols.
- Demonstrated experience solving analytical and complex business problems and comfort in dealing with ambiguity in determining an appropriate path forward.
- Ability to complete and communicate effectively in a highly fluid, interactive, matrixed environment; demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple simultaneous, complex projects to completion; comfort in presenting to Leadership.
- Deep interest and/or experience navigating the evolving U.S. healthcare system with specific interest on the interactions between Government and Healthcare.
- Authoritative command of complexity and ambiguity; ability to see the big picture; ability to collect, digest and assemble information to enable relevant business analyses and controls.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
