Scientist - Immunologist

What you will do

Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will be a part of the Department of Inflammation Research working as a Scientist to discover novel targets and develop innovative therapies in inflammatory diseases.

You will perform cutting edge research to investigate disease driving molecular and cellular mechanisms in inflammatory diseases, such as inflammatory bowel disease, asthma, COPD, or atopic dermatitis. You will collaborate with a dynamic research team from multiple Amgen functional areas, including Therapeutic Discovery and Medical Sciences.

Position Responsibilities
  • Identify and validate discovery targets using human genetics, single cell transcriptomics, cellular assays and/or inflammatory disease models
  • Lead and/or support project teams in collaboration with scientists from multiple functional areas
  • Publish and present at national/international conferences

Basic Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree OR
  • Masters degree plus 4 years of scientific experience OR
  • Bachelors degree plus 6 years of scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD with strong knowledge and research experience in the field of immunology and inflammatory diseases, such as such as inflammatory bowel disease, asthma, COPD, or atopic dermatitis.
  • Technical expertise in CRISPR, siRNA, multi-color flow cytometry, or mouse inflammatory disease models
  • Demonstrated track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement in research, exemplified by a strong publication record and/or significant contributions to a therapeutic development program
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledgeable, highly motivated, creative, and collaborative
