What you will do

Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will apply data science expertise to develop models and algorithms, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of computational and experimental scientists, across potentially broad discovery area of research. The key responsibilities include,

  • Develop and implement cutting edge machine learning and other data science solutions
  • Collaborate with other Amgen computational scientists to develop or optimize predictive models that can directly impact the discovery pipeline
  • Provide technical leadership to other data scientists and data engineers

What we expect of you

We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The qualified professional we seek is a data scientist with these qualifications.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Data Science experience.

OR

Masters degree and 5 years of Data Science experience

OR

Bachelors degree and 7 years of Data Science experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • PhD in Computational Sciences, Applied Math, Statistics, or related quantitative fields
  • Strong track record of research accomplishment with a minimum of five scientific publications or conference presentations
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in applying data science and machine learning to molecular sciences or drug discovery
  • Extensive expertise in advanced data science techniques and tools, machine learning, supervised/unsupervised learning, statistical analysis etc.
  • Experience with UNIX, Python, C++, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras
  • Strong communication and technical leadership skills and enthusiasm for working in an interdisciplinary team environment
