Job description
The Sr. Automation Engineer will provide automation support to ATO B15, B25, B30 and B31 Critical Equipment Monitoring Systems (CEMS) .
- Provide hands-on PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA programming services including development work for integration of new systems and upgrade of existing systems.
- Follow GMP and SOP to add/remove equipment from CEMS
- Follow GMP and SOP to add/remove user access to CEMS and/or WIN-911
- Follow GMP and SOP to enable/disable alarms from CEMS and WIN-911 system.
- Follow GMP and SOP to perform Preventive Maintenance activities including OS patching on CEMS & WIN-911 system.
- Lead root cause investigation for any failures on CEMS and/or WIN-911 system.
- Own and close deviations/CAPA within agreed upon timelines.
- Provide training to end users on the use of CEMS system.
- Support, review and update validation documents.
- Project Engineering support for the automation project cycle on small/large projects.
Basic Qualifications
Doctorate Degree
OR
Master's Degree and 3 years of Engineering experience
OR
Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of Engineering experience
OR
Associate's degree and 10 years of Engineering experience
OR
High school diploma/GED and 12 years of Engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors in electrical, chemical, or mechanical engineering or Advanced degree..
- Min. 5+ years of experience working on Rockwell Automation and Allen-Bradley PLCs including FactoryTalk View Studio ME/SE
- Project engineering skills over and above the technical skills.
- Excellent people, team, and verbal/written communication skills.
- Experienced in process control engineering and troubleshooting.
- Experience in dealing with large number of customers and business stakeholders.
- Direct experience with regulated environments including detailed understanding of cGMPs.
- Ability to read P&IDs, instrumentation and electrical design packages including SDS, HDS, URS, IQ, OQ, VPand VSR among other engineering and validation documentation.
- Develop of detailed specification, engineering documents, SOP and operating standards.
- Able to support manufacturing operations through effective troubleshooting and ensuring automated equipment uptime and reliability.
- Knowledge of OSI PI Historian and programing languages such as VBA.
- Ability to work with others in a team environment
- Strong focus on safety.
- Some documentation and computer system validation experience.
- Automation / Controls engineering experience in a system integrator environment.
