Job description

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • 10+ years' progressive experience in accrual-basis accounting, financial statement compilation, budgeting and forecasting
  • 5+ years' experience in debt/equity financing, M&A and tax preparation
  • CPA or MBA designation a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of US GAAP with an emphasis on revenue recognition
  • 5+ years' experience supervising two or more professional staff
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills
  • Must be able to determine priorities and organize work to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to work calmly under pressure, has proven success working closely with strong personalities, and work as part of a team to achieve results
  • Knowledge and passion for sports is a plus


Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and distribution of monthly financial statements to board, senior management and ownership with a comprehensive analysis of actual performance against existing plans, forecasts and budgets.
  • Responsible for the analysis, closing, integration and consolidation of potential acquisitions as well as the creation and implementation of various profit improvement initiatives.
  • Responsible for the quarterly budget process as well as monthly reforecasts
  • Closely manage and forecast company's cash flow as well as capital expenditures.
  • Responsible for all personnel matters as well as overseeing the operations, IT and facilities of offices.
  • ­­­­­Manage external financial relationships including but not limited to investors, legal counsel,, auditors, tax partners, state regulators and league reporting while continually looking for ways to strengthen overall financial performance.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as well as process payroll bi-monthly including complex commissions
  • Ad-hoc reports as necessary
