Job Description/Summary: Represents Spiritual Care in leadership role #of the Chaplains and volunteers while also serving patients, families and staff. Provides spiritual care and emotional support to patients, their families and staff, including exploration of issues that are of meaning and value and/or issues causing moral or spiritual distress. Serves as a bridge to patient#s religious/spiritual community and/or congregation and to appropriate religious/spiritual leaders. Fosters conversation and clarification on cultural, ethical, religious, and other topics/dynamics that can affect patient care, family interactions, and staff performance. Facilitates and nurtures religious rituals and spiritual practices as needed by patients, families and staff and provides spiritual counseling and guidance to enable the integration of beliefs, attitudes and responses inherent to well-being in the clinical setting.# Position Requirements: Minimum Education: Master#s degree in Religious Studies, Divinity or Theology required or equivalent in relevant training/experience. #Completion of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at an ACPE accreditation healthcare center required. Minimum Experience: Two years as a Chaplain in a hospital setting; pediatric preferred. #Demonstration of leadership skills. Ordination or Commission in a religious community and/or meets ecclesiastical endorsement for health care ministry.# Certification Required: Certification by a national chaplain#s organization (APC, NACC, NAJC, ACPE, and CASC) or eligibility with completion within 18 months of employment# Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to successfully navigate diverse lifestyles, cultures, beliefs and values with cultural humility. #Ability to conduct oneself in accordance with the Standards of Practice for Professional Chaplains and in keeping with that which is required for Board Certification with one of the following national chaplain#s organizations: APC, NACC, NAJC, ACPE, and CASC Technical Knowledge: Ability to chart in, utilize for information gathering and navigate patient#s electronic medical records. #Basic computer and mobile device skills # Physical Requirements: Travel: Must have ability to orient and work at all inpatient locations Sit: Up to 6 hours/day Stand/Walk: Up to 6 hours Bend/Stoop: Up to 3 hours Reach: Up to 6 hours Rep Use of UE/Grasp: Up to 6 hrs Lift/Push/Pull: 25 lbs, over 25# with assistance or equipment This job requires the ability to hear alarms clients and/or instruction.
