Their Enterprise Application Services team provides critical enabling technology solutions to support their corporate mission to redefine healthcare management through improved quality and efficient delivery of care.


They are looking to add a Senior Business Analyst to their multifunctional Scrum team. This is a REMOTE/local (some travel to sites within SoCal may be required for this role) 6-12mo+ contract engagement (contract to hire is possible).

Overview:

Acts as a business partner across the CA market to identify and implement business process improvements regarding a multi-application solution with iterative development, implementation, and spread. As a key member of the Program Management delivery team, is responsible for project deliverables and efforts that focus on the continuous improvement of enterprise efficiency, process quality, and customer experience. This includes working with stakeholders to identify, collect and analyze process data to look for opportunities to reduce/eliminate process wastes and turn them into continuous improvement and/or transformation opportunities. Establishes Key Performance Measurements (KPIs), and monitors quantitative as well as qualitative process improvements to report against critical success factors and Quality Improvement (QPI) objectives.

In this role, you will consistently solve organizational challenges. You will provide cross-functional stakeholders and leadership with documentation that effectively communicates gaps and opportunities, root causes, and impacts to the end-to-end process. Recommends future state solutions to eliminate/mitigate those impacts or processes needed for implementing new strategic organizational capabilities. As an embedded resource to project teams, you will be the go-to person to help implement, promote, and set the standard on how we do business process innovation. You will promote, demonstrate, and authentically communicate the benefits and applications of Business Process Improvement (BPI).

This position reports to the Director, PMO.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Document as-is and to-be business processes and process performance and assist business teams to develop a clear understanding of process change impacts with adoption approaches.
  • Lead cross-functional working groups and JAD/JAR sessions to improve business processes by studying current practices and proposing modifications, taking an end-to-end perspective with a focus on improved service, operational excellence, and increased customer satisfaction.

  • Demonstrated ability to resolve problems and present appropriate business solutions and recommendations; ability to make quality, independent decisions
  • Train and educate the organization. Implement continuous improvement methodologies including, but not limited to Six Sigma, 5S, Lean Principles, and others.
  • Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.
  • Collaborates and partners with Program/Project Managers to provide insights and expertise as a key contributor during Project Selection and Project Planning. This includes but is not limited to defining project scope, assumptions, constraints, resource estimates, and schedules.
  • Performs stakeholder analysis related to resource needs for completing BA tasks including the roles with an estimated amount of time required. Relays this information to Program/Project managers for requesting appropriate resource allocations from applicable resource managers
  • Is responsible and accountable for creating and maintaining Program Backlog Items (PBIs) tied to Project schedules including a description of the work to be performed, estimated levels of effort to complete the PBI, and a clear definition of "Done" including acceptance criteria to measure results.
  • Updates PBI status and is a key contributor to Sprint Planning meetings for determining and prioritizing project deliverables based on new or changing business needs and opportunities discovered
  • Leads Sprint presentations to the Business Owner and their staff on completed work
  • Presents ideas and recommendations for improving overall PMO processes during Sprint Retrospectives and any other time throughout the year as applicable
  • A key contributor to Lessons Learned and active participant in project closeout meetings with the business


Competencies:

  • Proficient in data collection and analysis, value stream mapping, process capability analysis, financial impact, root-cause identification, BPMN standards, etc.
  • Ability to adapt strategy and approach based on changing business priorities
  • Ability to collaborate and partner with various leadership and SMEs across the organization
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment while transforming incomplete business needs into well-defined business/functional requirements in order to institute BPI
  • Strong communication, collaboration, facilitation, and influencing skills with the ability to interface across functional areas at all levels of the organization
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and critical thinking skills with demonstrated use of data analysis and metrics to drive decision making and continuous improvement
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and presentation skills


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or professional certification in a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven relevant Business Process experience
  • Intermediate or advanced Excel skills (ability to utilize data from multiple source files/tables, create pivot tables and charts)


Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Lean/Six Sigma Black belt Certification
  • Certification (i.e. Agile/Scrum, PMP, CSM, CBAP) in addition to LSSGB
  • Prior experience in Health Care, Managed Care
