We are currently seeking a skilled Fabricator for our Advanced Design Studio located in Newport Beach, California. As part of the Model Development team, you will use advanced fabrication skills to create various 3D parts and tools for automotive concept designs. Position will be a temporary contract assignment working for 2-3 months at a time, 8 hours a day. No weekends. You will: Apply proper procedure and technique for a variety of model development tasks, including but not limited to: sanding, metal work, wood work, vacuum forming, masking, tooling creation, etc.;. Oversee setup, maintenance, and operation of a 3D Printer;. Understand how to utilize various materials, such as, plaster, wood, fiberglass, silicones, clay, etc.;. Support overall model development work such as sand/mask models, armature set-up, foam cutting/gluing, operating shop machinery, etc. Ideal candidate will possess: 5+ years of experience as a fabricator in a professional studio setting;. Shop, trade, or art classes a plus;. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and operate basic shop machinery;. Exceptional attention to detail and craftsman-level quality of work;. Demonstrated ability to work as a productive team member and meet deadlines;. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
