Kemper is seeking a General Adjuster to work in Los Angeles / Orange County, CA area. The General Adjuster will be responsible for inspecting, investigating large loss, complex; Personal Lines claims in excess of $100,000. Work independently and remotely from your home! Our company also provides a company car, laptop computer, and other required equipment to ensure your success!

Position Responsibilities:

• Review policy coverages, inspects damages, determines cause and origin, investigates all questionable circumstances, and considers subrogation and salvage possibilities.
• Determines values on building losses, promptly and efficiently prepares comprehensive damage and repair estimates, determines accurate scopes of damage, settles claims on the basis of the determined scope and estimate.
• Ability to work with provided resources to identify and establish a scope of damage and inventory for personal property losses.
• Provides exemplary customer service; providing comprehensive explanations of all facets of coverage and claim process to the insured.
• Be able to respond to claims in person within (48) hours of receipt by the company; traveling nationally as necessary.
• Will work with legal counsel to develop strategic defenses and weigh the potential outcomes vs. early mediation/settlement.
• This position will also provide guidance to 3rd party property GL adjusters handling large structural exposures, expert mediation and litigation support for large property claims in suit.
• Be available for Catastrophe Duty as required.

Position Qualifications:

• 8-10 years claim experience with specific background in investigating and adjusting Personal Lines property claims, handling losses in excess of $100,000 required.
• College degree or equivalent work experience is required.
• Ability to travel by vehicle and air is required.
• Ability to lift (50) pounds or more is required.
• Must have a high aptitude and operational ability working with Xactimate, XactAnalysis, MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to exhibit excellent communication (especially written), organizational, interpersonal and customer skills.
• Maintain the highest professional customer service and technical standards under significant levels of stress/pressure.
• High degree of claim documentation and quality adjusting skills is required.
• Must have strong insurance policy and coverage knowledge, ability to handle complex property claims.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, maintaining a positive experience and relationships with customers and business partners.
• Strong investigative, analytical, problem solving, planning and organization and time management skills required.
• Strong presentation skills required.
• Must have valid driver's license in state of domicile.
• Must possess or attain state adjusting licenses as required within (90) days of hire.
• Provide close mentoring, training, and direction to other property adjusters.
