Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Engineer Industrial to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Palmdale, CA.

Responsibilities will include:

Develops and implements plans that ensure the timely availability and effective utilization of labor, facilities, equipment, & tooling resources enabling the achievement of program delivery and cost milestones

Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods

Provides capacity planning, shop-loading and staffing analysis for functional production teams

May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities.

Analyzes existing operational processes and develops metrics and reporting to optimize and improve program & operational performance

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment; OR a Master's Degree with 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Must have a current active DoD secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain special program access.

Scheduling and manufacturing process knowledge

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience with MS Excel Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous Industrial Engineering experience

STEM Degree

Aerospace experience

Paint Shop Experience

Flight Test Experience

Capable of working with MS Excel, MS Access, and MS Project software, ability to pull data from different resources and compile for metric development.

Experience with continuous improvement initiatives

Experience with value stream mapping

Experience developing estimates

Salary Range: 92000 - 138000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
