The SIT&E Functional Director 2 is responsible for test and evaluation personnel, processes, and tools for all manned and unmanned aeronautical programs either developed or tested at Palmdale, Oklahoma City, Edwards AFB, Mojave, and other remote sites. They will provide executive leadership for a large complex organization that supports multiple simultaneous programs in various stages of the acquisition cycle. SIT&E operates a wide range of system integration labs, iron birds, integration facilities, structural test facilities, ground and flight test facilities, test bed aircraft, test support aircraft (chase) and instrumentation and data systems to support experimental, developmental and acceptance testing. The value of these assets well exceeds $1B and program success depends on the preservation of personnel and assets. Skills in the organization include: Instrumentation, data management, production test, flight test operations, systems test and flight test engineering, structural test, specialty testing, SIL operations, air vehicle maintenance, ground test operations, model based test and evaluation, test automation, and test management. SIT&E is also responsible for coordination for Palmdale ground and flight operations, to include flight line/ramp oversight, airspace coordination, frequency authorizations and critical resource allocation for the site. This position will coordinate with program and production leadership at Palmdale and customer test organizations at Edwards AFB and elsewhere. Additional responsibilities include Flight Test Community of Practice leadership, responsibility for capital, NCTA, indirect, and allocation budgets, and other strategic initiatives. SIT&E is comprised of more than 760 professionals, growing to over 850 in the next year.

The Systems Integration Test & Evaluation Director 2 reports to the Vice President of Engineering for Palmdale and Oklahoma City

Basic Qualifications:

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree required with 14 or more years of experience in air vehicle test and operations.

Minimum 6 years of test leadership/management experience in an integrated product team environment.

Experience as a manager of large (>100 person) teams.

Proven ability to drive teams to solve complex integration challenges, and to drive teams to develop and implement process improvements.

The candidate must possess excellent leadership, and written communication skills.

Active Secret Clearance within the last 5 years, and eligibility for Top Secret Clearance and SCI is required to start.

Experience with all phases of testing from test strategy development to operational test.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree.

Program management experience.

Experience leading testing for a major Army, Air Force or Navy program.

Track record of safe test operations.

Experience leading a mixed engineering and touch labor workforce.

Formal test training such as test pilot school or flight test certification.

Salary Range: 210000 - 315000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
