osition Summary:
The primary role of the Facilities Engineering Technician lll would be to perform general maintenance, corrective repairs of buildings, and emergency repairs activities. Would assist in monitoring building system operations, lab equipment calibration program including installation of diverse types of lab equipment such as incubators, centrifuges, freezers and other types of laboratory equipment.
The Facilities Engineering Technician lll ensures work requests for the laboratory, office and building systems are fulfilled in a timely manner. Able to respond immediately to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment/power failure) at all times, this includes after hours within a reasonable amount of time. Utilized several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, heating and cooling. Perform additional job duties as requested. This individual will provide facility-related Project Management support and must have an understanding of cGMP manufacturing environment regarding a vaccine manufacturing facility or similar industry experience.
Minimum Education/Experience:
- Keeps all facilities equipment and utilities in compliance with regulatory standards and in good working order.
- Maintain all building systems and equipment, including but not limited to, HVAC, CDA, vacuum, DI/RO, Purified Water systems, hot water boilers, chillers, electrical equipment and BMS/EMS control systems.
- Review and understand equipment and methods of operation, BMS system, fire/life safety, and other systems;
- Effectively and safely troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Write and review SOP's as directed by QA.
- Perform cGMP facility inspections and report on condition affecting operations
- The ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
- Locates and diagnoses failures, replaces defective components and performs basic troubleshooting using hand & power tools, test equipment, mathematics, operating manuals, specifications, prints, and verbal and/or written instructions.
- Applies knowledge of cGMPs daily.
- Provides written documentation of activities via work orders, PMs, formal root cause analysis, management reports and discrepancies or non-conformance reports, engineering change orders (ECO) and validations.
- Communicates status of work assignments to internal customers.
- Develops and revises Standard Operating Procedures and manages or supports key audit and compliance activities.
- Assists in updating, creating, and assigning work orders.
- Ensure all functions are performed safely and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, as well as company policies, procedures, and controls.
- Responds to Emergency notifications as part of on call rotation
- Assignments range from mundane to complex where considerable judgment and initiative are required, and where analysis must be documented.
- Normally receives little to no instruction on routine work, and general instructions on new assignments.
- Immediately respond to emergency situations such as fire, evacuation, and equipment failure.
- On call for security and building system related emergencies.
- Ability to lift 50lbs
