Your Role
The Blue Shield of California Promise Health Plan Clinical Access Programs team ensures that new Medi-Cal members have access to safe, high quality providers and able to schedule an appointment and establish care with a Primary Care Physician within 120 days of enrollment. The Senior Business Analyst will report to the Senior Manager of the Clinical Access Programs. In this role you will provide project management, analytical and data reporting support to the Clinical Access Program's projects and business operations. The Senior Business Analyst will support department leadership with initiatives by defining business requirements, conducting analysis and reporting and assisting with operational and implementation plans.
Your Work
In this role, you will:
- Develop, prepare, and analyze reports with complex analysis and data for management review, and present to various levels of management
- Define business requirements and provide analysis to increase operational efficiency
- Provide complex analytical support through the analysis and interpretation of data in support of multiple cross-functional business operations
- Provide project management support to multiple projects, establishing project plans and timelines and coordinating on projects with internal and external resources
- Develop annual operating plans, capital budgets and forecasts, and build business cases for new business initiatives (cost/benefit analysis)
- Work cross-functionally in analyzing, designing, and developing business solutions
- Analyzes actual results against plan and forecasts and identifies opportunities for improvement in operational performance and recommends interventions where appropriate
Your Knowledge and Experience
- Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Requires at least 5 years of prior relevant experience
- Requires at least 3 years of experience in data and analytics: developing, preparing and analyzing reports from multiple data systems including SAS software
- Requires experience working with pivot table in Excel
- Requires project management and/or program management experience
- Requires previous experience completing requirement and operational documents, reports, specifications, plans and analysis
- Health Plan experience preferred
- Project management certification preferred
