Job description
Howmet has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Electrician in our Rancho Cucamonga Operations. This position is a key member of the Facilities team, is a highly visible position that will require traveling to different sites within California.
Howmet Engines is a world-class producer of aero engine and industrial gas turbine components, including airfoils, forged rings, disks and forgings. We excel in vacuum melted superalloys, machining, performance coatings and hot isostatic pressing for high performance parts that enable the next generation of quieter, more fuel-efficient aero engines and cleaner power generation.
Summary: Maintains electrical equipment in good condition; performs a variety of maintenance, repair, and installation duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. * Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments.
* Inspects and tests electrical lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits.
* Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using testing instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, megameter and voltmeter, testing lamp or growler.
* Installs and monitors performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacement.
* Oversees or performs complex or difficult maintenance repairs or installations.
* Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes and armatures.
* Replaces faulty switches, sockets and other simple elements of electrical systems.
* Mounts motors, transformers and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications, local and national codes.
* Measures, cuts, threads, and installs electrical conduit.
* Pulls wiring through conduit.
* Splices wires.
* Connects wiring to fixtures and power equipment.
* Installs grounding leads.
* Performs other maintenance duties.
* Provides training to other employees.
* Electrical certificate.
* Ability to use electrical measuring instruments.
* 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Proficient in the use of lathes, mills, surface grinders, hones, band saws, hand tools and power tools.
* Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
* Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics
* Familiarity with motor control, AC frequency drives and PLC's.
