Associate Scientist, Protein-Protein Interactions
The Protein Interactions Group is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic scientist who enjoys hands-on bench work to provide quantitative data that drive decisions in a highly collaborative environment. You will represent the Protein Interactions Group at discovery team meetings and contribute your expertise to the discovery of novel cancer therapeutics.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Drive the development and implementation of cell-based biophysical assays
- Quantitate antibody-target binding on cells using a variety of techniques including flow cytometry
- Determine receptor numbers on cells
- Present data and analysis in written and oral form to project leaders and teams
- Collaborate closely with Hybridoma, Biology and Protein Engineering groups
Requirements:
- BS/MS in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field with 2-4 years of professional experience
- Understanding of biophysical concepts and solid math skills a must
- Expertise in characterizing protein-protein interactions with a variety of techniques
- Hands-on experience with cell binding assays and receptor quantitation
- Hands-on experience with flow cytometry a must
- Hands-on experience with cell culture protocols a must
- Hands-on experience with biosensor platforms (Biacore, Octet, LSA, KinExA, etc.) a plus
- Hands-on experience with bioassay methods such as MSD and Gyro a plus
- Experience with automation and R scripts a plus
- Strong attention to detail and excellent bench skills a must
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to contribute to multidisciplinary discovery teams
