Job Description
We are hiring a Senior Business System analyst to join our Data Platform team. Your main tasks will include engaging with the business users on new and existing projects, performing detailed requirements analysis, documenting processes, and performing some user acceptance testing. To succeed in this role you should have a natural analytical way of thinking and be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical users. Looking for a go-getter and self-starter who can work in a challenging environment with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business architects and cross functional teams to define the roadmap, prioritize projects and enhancement requests, analyze business benefits and/or operational efficiencies, map business processes and implement creative and effective solutions.
- Consulting ability to define and prioritize requirements, translate requirements into system functions, understand application configurations and customizations which can complete the solutions.
- Define current state and future state roadmap and uncover gaps in Data Platform best practices.
- Lead discovery workshops, which includes the facilitation of large audiences, solution presentations, and prototype demonstrations.
- Work closely with Finance, Sales, Marketing, Operations and other cross functional organizations to capture requirements, examine existing business models and flows of data, document and present findings and craft appropriate IT solution, act as the liaison between the technical leads, the business, and the development team.
- Use data as a drive to influence Business Actions, Process Improvements.
- Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new IT software projects and initiatives to support, enhance, and improve efficiency of business processes.
- Facilitate integration and user acceptance testing including documentation of test scenarios and provide oversight of test execution for projects.
- Facilitating workshops and discussion sessions. Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable and optimal solutions.
- Establish a requirements management strategy for the project, which describes; process for elicitation, documentation standards and format, tools, meeting cadence, backlog grooming process, review & approval process, change process, requirements status and metrics, and communications processes.
- Facilitate the ongoing backlog grooming process, supporting the Product Owner to define value, priority, and select scope for upcoming releases and sprints.
- Work cross functionally with multiple teams onsite/ offshore with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree is preferred preferably in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent years of industry experience.
- Five (5)+ years of experience as a Business Analyst/ Solution Architect.
- 3+ year of Data warehouse and Reporting experience is a plus.
- Good Documentation practices to help capture requirements accurately, track changes, report defects and promote continuous process improvements.
- Experience with the reporting tools like Tableau, Qlikview or PowerBI is a plus.
- Experience with the AWS Data Warehouse Stack is plus.
- Knowledge on story grooming, functional analysis, storyboarding, use case scenario and user persona creation, process flow design.
- Experience with Agile methodology management tools a plus (e.g. Jira).
- Strong analytical skills, problem solving, communication skill and presentation skills to C Suite level audiences with meeting planning and facilitation skills.
- Self-starter, able to work independently, identify what needs to be done and do it with limited direction and oversight.
- Product Owner certification is a plus.
- Proficiency with agile or lean development practices.
You have strong knowledge and experience addressing a broad range of accounting matters, ensuring it is processed in compliance with established internal controls. You possess analytical skills needed to correctly grasp and communicate data, and analyze and reconcile accounts; ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion; and handle multiple deadlines.
You are a self-starter, work well as a team player, but can work independently when appropriate. You possess the ability to analyze problems and actively strategize to resolve them, pay attention to detail, and have excellent organization and communication skills. You are results oriented. You can juggle multiple tasks, work cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization, whether internally or externally. You are flexible and comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and can prioritize to focus on the important, not just the urgent.
