Bayside Solutions is seeking a Bioinformatics Associate I to be part of our client's team in South SF. This is an opportunity to work with a biotechnology company that is determined to use cutting-edge science to identify and develop treatment to patients suffering from serious and life-threatening diseases.

Contract Length: 11 months
Location: South San Francisco - Remote

**The company has mandated COVID-19 vaccination for their workforce, effective October 1st, 2021. All external personnel providing services are required to comply with this requirement. **

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • The candidate will join a team focused on statistical model/data analysis/infrastructure developments for proteomics/lipidomics and collaboration with various scientific groups, including bioinformatics and bench teams.
  • This position provides the opportunity to implement and deliver bioinformatics tools for a wide range of applications.
  • Develop high-performance bioinformatics software solutions
  • Drive the testing and maintenance of the algorithms and software modules
  • Collaborate with multiple bioinformatics infrastructure and research teams


Summary of Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience programming in R is absolutely required.
  • Proficiency with Python
  • Experience in processing and integration of any or large multi-omics data (proteomics, metabolomics, and genomics)
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with great attention to detail in coding practices
  • Able to execute complex analyses in a timely manner.
  • Experience with cloud computing is a plus.
  • Experience with machine learning methods is a plus.
  • Prior experience with software engineering, testing, and documentation is a plus.
  • Team-oriented focus and can work independently.


Job Requirements:
