Senior Aquatic Biologist

Job description

Cardno is seeking a Senior Aquatic Biologist in our Sacramento CA office. Our project needs, senior technical fisheries biologist to lead hydro relicensing/compliance studies, BD for other projects, and provide QA/QC on other fisheries/aquatics related work

Job Description:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

> Lead various aquatic projects and field programs, including fish surveys (also other aquatic species), instream flow/hydrology, water temperature, and general water quality
> Technical data analyses and report writing

>> Modeling Interpretation (habitat and temperature)
> Presentations with clients and stakeholders
> Supervise and mentor aquatic staff
> Business development

Basic Qualifications:

> Bachelors with extensive experience, MS, or PhD in fish biology, aquatic ecology, or environmental sciences/engineering or related science
> 12 or more years of relevant experience
> Strong quantitative skills
> Experience/ability to lead field studies (e.g., fisheries, water quality, hydraulics/hydrology)
> Excellent oral and written communication skills
> Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
> Technical data analysis and report writing
> Proven presentations experience
> General knowledge of Northern California watersheds and the California Bay-Delta
> General knowledge of anadromous fish species/ water resources/ water quality

> Experience with proposal writing and business development
> Willing and able to travel to field sites and project meetings
> Ability to work well independently and with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team
> Self-motivated with strong initiative
> Creative, resourceful, and detail-oriented
> Positive and energetic attitude
