Works under the supervision of the Business Services Coordinator.# Performs diverse clerical tasks involved in processing of billing for services to patients in order to expedite remittances and minimize outstanding accounts.# Checks for prior stays and charges.# Resolves questions through written correspondence, in person or by telephone.# Performs other duties as assigned. # # 1.# # Education: Work requires knowledge generally acquired through a high school education or GED. # 2.# # Licensure: None. # 3.# # Experience: One (1) or more years# experience in medical billing, including medical terminology and ## computer experience. # 4.# # Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Types 45-55 wpm, 10-key calculator by touch and, computer knowledge. Sufficient manual dexterity to operate office equipment, including printers, copiers,#adding machines and personal computers. # 5.#Interpersonal Skills: Ability to effectively communicate and interact with others, maintain composure in #stressful situations, effective problem solving skills and a genuine caring approach to the needs and feelings of others. # 6.##Essential Physical Requirements: See attached #Physical Requirements Sheet# # 7.# Essential Mental Abilities: Basic computer knowledge, analytical and reasoning skills, and medical#terminology.# High level of mental concentration performing multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions and under stressful conditions.# Maintains strict confidentiality of patient data. # 8.# # Essential Sensory Requirements: Must be able to hear, see, verbally communicate and have tactile# #sense. # 9.# # Performance Improvement: Assumes active role in the department#s Continuous Performance Improvement Program.# Develops, implements and assesses Continuous Performance Improvement efforts as assigned. # #
