Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated BS- or MS-level chemist with analytical chemistry skills to join our team to advance small molecule drug discovery programs toward the clinic. In this laboratory-based position, the successful candidate will join the high throughput purification team, where our goal is to streamline the purification workflow in the drug discovery pipeline. This includes the purification of compounds from focused chemical libraries or singleton samples with reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC). She/he will maintain frequent interactions with scientists from discovery chemistry, discovery process chemistry and parallel medicinal chemistry. Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a team environment are key attributes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily system suitability checks on analytical and preparative LCMS systems and troubleshoot/repair instrumentation problems
• Assist in method screening prior to sample purification and post purification fraction QC
• Purification of chemical libraries and singleton samples
• Support all lab operations, including but not limited to, preparation of reference standard, refill media/buffers for analytical and preparative LCMS systems,
• Support all shipping and receiving samples
• Maintain general lab orderliness through regular equipment maintenance, water bath and equipment/workspace cleaning
• Assist in the maintenance of a safe working environment and operate in an EH&S compliant manner
• Participate in and contribute to team meetings
• Other duties and assignments as needed to support the HTP lab capabilities

Qualifications

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Analytical, Synthetic, Organic, Medicinal chemistry or related chemistry degree is required
• Knowledge of modern analytical techniques, such as LCMS, RP-HPLC and MS detector experience preferred
• Must be detail oriented with strong organization/communication skills and have good documentation practices
• Experienced on Waters equipment with Masslynx software is a bonus"
