Consulting Associate
As a Workplace Consulting Associate at JLL, you will develop, sell and provide executive oversight in the delivery of creative, cost-effective solutions that not only look good on paper, but also work in practice. You'll join as a member of our JLL Strategic Consulting team, creating competitive business advantage for a client by tailoring innovative real estate and workplace solutions that match their key enterprise strategies.
You will drive strategic workplace strategies, and portfolio planning activities on project teams for a client. You'll provide decision support materials to optimize the real estate portfolio and employee base through an integrated approach. You'll also be responsible for enhancing existing programs to meet client business objectives that may include reducing occupancy costs, attracting/retaining employees, improving employee productivity, etc.
Responsibilities:
* Must thrive on uncovering new opportunities, love to build and cultivate relationships, have the business savvy to hone in on changes in the marketplace and to be a strategic thinker.
* Lead the acquisition of new business.
* Consult strategically with clients and prospects to develop solutions for their complex problems.
* Develop real estate strategies to enable our clients to meet their business strategies and objectives.
* Analyze corporate clients' real estate portfolios and develop strategies and plans to achieve long-term operational and financial goals.
* Proactively manage and/or oversee execution of client engagements to ensure excellence, consistency and profitability.
* Support Consulting's mission and vision by developing thought leadership.
* Pursue new business opportunities and identify areas for growth in conjunction with the Consulting leadership team and personnel.
* Actively participate in industry forums, conferences, and membership in key civic organizations.
* Assist in efforts to leverage insights, collaboration and delivery to ensure that we are the industry innovation leader.
* Lead and support in the management and development of the Consulting team with the overall goal of improving performance.
* Maintain change management processes, methods, and resources, including presentation decks and education tools
* Partner with teams to ensure consistency in the workplace experience and delivery before, during, and after the change
* Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress, drive continuous improvement, and develop long term plan to sustain the change over time

* Regarded as the technical expert in their particular field(s). Requires in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in own discipline and broad knowledge of other disciplines within the unit.
* Anticipates business and regulatory issues; recommends product, process or service improvements.
* Leads projects with notable risk and complexity; develops the strategy for project execution.
* Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business; requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop solutions.
* Impacts the direction and resource allocation for program, project or service objectives; works within general unit policies and industry guidelines.
* Communicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections and persuades others, often at senior levels to adopt a different point of view.
Required Skills:
* 5-7+ years of client advisory experience, with an emphasis on strategy and/or commercial real estate
* MBA or other advanced degree is highly desirable
* Strong background and proven experience in at least one of the capability areas noted above
* Sound understanding of how real estate supports the achievement of enterprise level goals and objectives
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
* Project execution experience, leadership, staff and client management skills are required
* Proficiency in finance and accounting concepts, as well as financial modelling are essential for success in this position
* Intellectually curious and creative
* Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
* Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information, with experience utilizing the latest business intelligence analytical tools
* Proven ability to present to senior leadership and clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences
* Experience with large-scale, phased strategic change efforts
Desired Skills:
* Demonstrated leadership and direction through managers
* Leadership or accountability for the performance and results of a sub-function
* Executed unit business plans and contributed to the development of discipline strategy
* Made decisions guided by function and sub-function strategy and priorities
Travel: 50-70% travel required for this role
