Overview As an entry level Radio Frequency Engineer, you will support the sustaining engineering department in basic & complex integrated microwave assemblies through the tuning, testing, and optimization of RF/Microwave circuits; assist in electrical and mechanical design and generating complete drawing packages, including testing procedures. Responsibilities Assist in the design of RF/Microwave electrical circuits, components and integrated microwave assemblies including computer/mathematical modeling, part, material and process selection and mechanical layout and packaging; perform technical analysis/feasibility for new product specifications and generate cost/technical proposals. Evaluate specifications and component design including testing procedures, drawing packages, and using Cobham standard design practices. Test, tune, debug and optimize electronic circuits and components to meet specification requirements and manufacturing produce-ability requirements; write test procedures and/or software. Team up with technicians on test, tune, debug and optimization of electronic circuits and components; Perform and coordinate production engineering support function such as fixtures, materials, design, process problem evaluation and solution. Participate in safety training and actively comply with safety policies and practices; maintain a clean and safe workstation. Improve and maintain 5S in your area; make suggestions for improvements. Participate in Lean/Six Sigma activities in own work area as well as events for other areas to enhance cross-functional problem solving. Problem solve issues related to electrical and manufacturing that will impact problems including yields, HPUs, quality, and defects. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering related discipline Zero (0) years of RF Engineering Experience or four (4) years' experience working in an electronic environment with Radio Frequency/Microwave circuit design, analysis, and or troubleshooting Preferred Education & Experience Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering Taken courses and Labs in Electromagnetism Ability to read schematics, assembly drawings, and parts list. Aerospace and Defense or Manufacturing industry experience. Technical lead role for development of RF/Microwave products Experience in testing and troubleshooting RF/Microwave sub-systems integrated microwave assemblies and components, including circuit analysis tools such as MWO and test procedures. Working knowledge of measuring and understanding parameter, including but not limited to S-parameters, power measurement, noise figure, intercept point, compression point, switching speed, spurious and phase noise. Communication skills: ability to receive messages by telephone, in person, electronically and in writing; ask questions and rephrase statements to clarify meaning; ability to read, interpret and comprehend complex written technical publications; communicate quality, integrity and respect in a way that inspires others and encourages innovation and possibilities Computer skills: working in networked environment using a Windows and or Windows like interface using PowerPoint, Excel, and Word software programs at an advance level; LabView, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or exposure to 2D and 3D CAD programming a plus Math & Analytical skills: advanced mathematical skills, including statistical analysis; review and compare data to identify inconsistencies and determine priorities; ability to collect, analyze and summarize information to a general understanding; ability to think abstractly and separate complex ideas into simple elements Time Management and Organization skills: flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments; ability to maintain confidentiality; work with the vast array of information gathered during elicitation and analysis and to cope with rapidly changing information Excellence Behaviors: remain engaged, proactive and positive even in tough circumstances; own assignment to be fully accountable for their success; align actions, behaviors and conversations to what matters most; ability to work independently and as a team member.
