**Lab Technician I**

**~4-Month Contract (full-time, W2)**

**Pay Rate: $18.50/hour**

Summary of Position:

Under close supervision, this position is responsible for a variety of manufacturing support functions involving the operation of lab equipment and conduct of procedures/tasks according to established GMP, under the direction of senior staff.

Essential Functions:

+ Carry out tasks in support of experimentation and production activities as directed.

+ Participate in Lean Initiatives.

+ Follow all safety guidelines, manufacturing policies and procedures. Operate under strict QSR compliance.

+ Operate laboratory equipment safely, as trained and directed, in accordance with established practices.

+ Obtain and stock laboratory supplies as directed.

+ Maintain records as directed in an accurate and thorough manner.

+ Clean laboratory area, equipment and glassware as necessary.

+ Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

+ Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies.

Interactions:

+ The Lab Technician may have interaction with the following groups/systems. Typically, with supervision:

+ execute GMP documentation (i.e. log sheets, maintenance log sheets, etc.).

+ Facilities - request repairs/changes to facilities.

+ IT - request repairs.

+ Safety - training, compliance, may participate in safety committee, recommends safety and housekeeping improvements.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics are representative of both an and laboratory environment and include handling of viral and bacterial hazards as well as infectious or potentially infectious bodily fluids, tissues and samples. Flexible work hours to support production demand. ??

Requirements:

+ Education & Experience:

+ High School Diploma or equivalent required.

+ Prior experience in the operations of lab equipment and use of lab chemicals and tools preferred.

+ Knowledge & Skills:

+ Basic mathematical skills.

+ General computer knowledge.

+ Good organizational skills.

+ Laboratory skills, such as reagent/solution preparation, pipetting and testing.

+ Good verbal and written communication skills.

+ Good interpersonal skills.

+ Knowledge of cGMP and cGLP.

+ Ability to follow basic instructions, maintain accurate records and notes, and the ability to carry out assignments in a through, conscientious fashion.
