Lube Technician - Kearny Mesa Ford & Kia

Job Summary:

The Lubrication Technician performs oil changes and lubricates moving parts of vehicles while in training with skilled technicians.

Responsibilities:

-Making sure moving parts are lubricated if needed.

-Injecting grease into units, such as springs, universal joints and steering knuckles, using hand-or compressed air-powered grease gun.

-Inspecting fluid level of steering gears, power steering reservoirs, transmissions differentials, rear axle housings and shackles.

-Checking air pressure of tires, adding water to the radiator, testing the battery, replacing oil and air filters, checking wipers, and spraying springs with lubricant.

-Draining oil and refilling crankcase with right amount of new lubricant.

- Perform brake, tire, and vehicle inspections and complete a Vehicle Inspection Report with accurate information supplied to the customer.

-Working alongside a skilled technician to learn how to perform quality vehicle service maintenance repairs.

-Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

-Must have a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.

-Successful completion of a National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF)-certified technical training program in automotive technology

-One to two years of prior experience working on motor vehicles is required.

-Lubrication servicers should possess mechanical aptitude and knowledge of how automobiles work.

-A valid driver's license with a good driving record is needed for this position.

-Must uphold the highest ethical standards.
