The Principal RF/MW Engineer is responsible for the development of packages and PCBs for 5G NR mmWave phased-array antenna, including design passive EM structure and active circuits based on proprietary RFICs for package or PCB to perform various functions for the phased-array antenna. Working with vendors on prototype and production specifications and scheduling, tolerance and production yield analysis. working with mechanic engineer on thermal requirements. working with IC designers on interface to and control of IC(s).


Development of power supply/management system and interface control for RFIC and phased-array antenna.


Bring up and lab characterization of mmWave semiconductor devices, modules, and multi-layer PCB system and phased-array antenna.


Develop ATE for automating the test procedure for performing IC characterization in the probe station, phased-array antenna calibration in the chamber.


Develop hardware level driver for controlling RFIC via microcontroller and/or laptop.



REQUIREMENTS


Master degree or higher with 5+ year of experience with focus on Microwave and/or Antenna Engineering



ESSENTIAL DUTIES



  • Extensive knowledge in microwave active circuits, passive EM structures, ceramic and organic substrate and antenna, SoC, and AiP.

  • Proficient in package or PCB based microwave semiconductor circuit development, measurements, and characterization. Experience in semiconductor device lab characterization, probe station measurement setup, subsystem/system tests and antenna chamber measurements.

  • Experience in the automation of lab/antenna testing using Python or Matlab or Labview for repeated, step-by-step lab characterization and test equipment control and data collection.

  • Experience in Power Management and Supply System development.

  • Experience in micro-controller, serial bus, and firmware development for device interface.

  • Extensive knowledge of 3GPP standards and compliance for cellular products.

  • CAD tools: HFSS, Python, Matlab, Labview, Altium or Allegro.



Performs other related duties as required.
