SBA Construction Processor
Job Description
Summary:
The position is responsible for processing, documenting and disbursing loan proceeds for SBA Construction loans.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews Contractor packages; calls on references and reviews the Contractor's license status.
- Reviews the construction contracts to ensure compliance with SBA and bank guidelines.
- Reviews the Bank's construction policies and procedures with the borrower and contractor.
- Reviews cost breakdowns and project budgets.
- Sends acceptance letters to borrowers and Contractors.
- Obtains necessary plans and permits; orders cost reviews from 3rd party vendors.
- Sets up Fund Control in the Fund Control Program.
- Reviews draw requests along with provided support documentation prior to disbursing construction funds.
- Balances draw requests against allocated construction funds.
- Orders and reviews necessary endorsements from title companies prior to disbursing funds.
- Maintains accurate construction pipeline reports.
- Addresses any issues/concerns that may arise during the construction process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization skills.
- Proven experience working in a fast-paced, high volume, customer-centric environment
- Effective time management and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and ability to demonstrate critical thinking
- Ability to work both independently as a self-starter and in a collaborative team environment
- Motivated and open to change
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of two (2) years of banking or financial services industry experience.
- Detailed knowledge of construction fund control.
Computer and Software Skills:
- Skilled in the operation of a personal computer, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Google Apps
