Lab Assistant

San Diego, CA

Mon- Fri 4:30am -1pm

Immediate need for multiple Lab Assistants in Tissue Sectioning Department at Global Diagnostic company in San Diego, CA. This is a first shift Mon- Fri 4:30am -1pm for a 6 month contract. Assists with the activities required to manufacture autoimmune diagnostic products. Major duties include the manufacturing of tissue sections and their placement onto glass microscope slides.

Responsibilities:

• Participates in all activities associated with the manufacturing of the tissue sections and their placement onto glass microscope slides in accordance with written documentation and established procedures.
• Cleans and maintains all sectioning equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures SOPs .
• Maintains accurate, detailed Device History Records and any associated documentation for all manufacturing activities in accordance with the Quality Systems Regulations QSRs in a timely manner.
• Informs supervisor of equipment needs and other supplies required to avoid interruptions in manufacturing schedules.
• Maintains work station and laboratory in a clean and orderly manner.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree GED
• 0-2 years of laboratory work experience in industry or academia
• Excellent manual dexterity required. Ability to work in a sitting position for long periods of time. Ability to work with hands in a cold environment.
• Working knowledge of usage of a light microscope highly desirable.
