Job description
This position is responsible for assigned Screening of the Forensic Toxicology Laboratory. The position reports to the Laboratory Manager.
Requirements:
· Tested specimens from forensic, and medical sources for toxicology:(AV5800) and (AV2700) Benchman Analyzer.
· Calibrate and Maintain screening instruments.
· Prepare standard solutions and reagents.
· Perform QC.
· Inspects, adjusts, cleans, maintains, and operates laboratory equipment, materials, and work area.
· Keeps laboratory records and prepares laboratory reports.
· Performs additional duties as required
· Perform Quality Assurance assistance to comply with CAP and CLIA guidelines
· Maintain chain of custody documents and associated logs
· Maintain sufficient inventory of reagents.
· Participate in surveys and laboratory inspections.
· Help in the training of new personnel.
· Ensure that results issued meet or exceed established laboratory Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and principles, be able to follow standard operating procedures (SOP) and fill out required logs/forms on a routine basis.
Qualifications and Skills:
· Experience with the preparation of reagents and controls.
. Experience with the instrument-based screening of drugs of abuse in urine and oral fluid specimens.
. Experience with the preparation of reagents and controls.
. Good pipetting skills
. Knowledge of SAMHSA, CAP, State, and Federal Regulations required.
. Meticulous attention to detail

Education and Experience:

Salary: $18 to $25/hour - Depending on Experience or Education (DOEE)
