Job type: fulltime

Job description
The Company You'll Join
At Carta we create owners and make private markets liquid.
We live in a world where some people live on the equity stack and enjoy exponential wealth growth and preferential tax treatment; others live on the debt stack and may work their entire lives for a company and retire only with the cash they've managed to save from their paychecks. Our contribution to solving the wealth inequality problem is moving people from the debt stack (payroll) to the equity stack. By making it as easy to issue equity to employees as it is to put them on payroll, we can create more owners.
At Carta, we are helpful, transparent, fair, and kind. We are relentless executors, unconventional thinkers, and masters of our craft.

The Team You'll Work With
Our mission is to "create more owners" by helping companies manage their equity and unlock liquidity for investors. Business Development Representatives "BDRs" that join the Carta Business Development (Channel) Team are the driving force of Carta's upward trajectory.
We pride ourselves on investing in our team and promoting from within. All BDRs receive training on Carta software, private market finance, and equity administration along with ongoing training in consultative sales, client management, negotiation, and sales operations. Furthermore, this team prides itself on effecting change throughout the organization as we are constantly engaging with our largest referral audience, our law firm partners.
The Problems You'll Solve
The BD/Channel BDR is the glue of the Partnerships team. This role focuses on the communication with and handoff for all companies referred by our partners, data analysis, and product/internal strategy. This BDR will also be involved in all process improvement and problem solving related to the intersection of Partnerships and the rest of the company.
Expectations for this role:
- Communicate - Respond to inbound inquiries regarding interest in Carta through referral partners and demo requests,
- New Partner Development - Respond to inbound partner interest inquiries by facilitating and - in some cases - leading: partner calls, introductions and data tracking,
- Program/Process Development - Work cross-functionally (SOps, MOps, R&D, Channel, Sales) and utilize data to ensure best partner and customer experience,
- Build Awareness & Advocacy - Systematically build partner and customer awareness and advocacy for Carta's corporations products.
About You
The Channel BDR must have a passion for strategic relationship building and a vision for how Carta can leverage our partnerships to help our current and prospective law firm and service provider partners. They are excited about building their sales and business development skills and have a bias to action.
- Self Starter - Ambitious, driven, and a problem solver,
- Coachability - Tremendous desire to learn about FinTech and the startup ecosystem in a "no-egos" environment,
- Emotional Intelligence - Ability to read emotional cues, understand a customer's and partner's needs, and navigate a conversation,
- Customer / Partner-Facing Experience - Experience in working with customers or partners face-to-face or over the phone (sales is an extra plus),
- Driven by Data - Identifies an issue, finds evidence rooted in data (experience with SFDC and Looker a plus), and provides analysis and solutions to the team.
