About this role

Responsibilities

  • Lead iShares brand strategy to build towards a distinct, differentiated and relevant brand
    • Lead and champion iShares brand strategy for the organization
    • Develop and maintain the tools and training required to support the consistent understanding and execution of the brand strategy and visual identity system across the iShares business
    • Support the consistent visual manifestation of the iShares brand through the application of a distinct visual identity system
    • Ensure the consistent and coherent communication of the brand positioning through execution of a global platform in partnership with regions
    • Support BlackRock brand portfolio strategy through management and oversight of product and suite naming strategies


  • Drive the development of integrated global creative platform, in support of key business and brand priorities
    • Lead the development of iShares global creative platform, in partnership with regions
    • Consult and collaborate with Global Marketing and key Business stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective execution
    • Consistently seek to enhance marketing effectiveness through the best in class application of marketing data and analytics to inform strategy and track the health of the brand and performance of global creative platforms


  • Be a brand and marketing thought leader within iShares, influencing brand and communications across all channels
    • Manage, motivate and inspire agency teams to deliver outstanding thinking, creative and results


  • Evangelize the value of brand across the organization, seeking to drive teams outside marketing to embrace our brand mission, values, and goals
  • Travel Requirements: 25% if based in San Francisco or Boston, 10-20% if based in NY, including international travel when permitted.
  • For San Francisco based applicants: requires early mornings to accommodate meetings with NY and London, with meetings beginning roughly between 6-8am PT 2-3 days per week.


Qualifications & Skills

Qualifications:
  • Results oriented marketer with 15+ years of experience building high profile consumer brands through the execution of business-driving and brand-building campaigns
  • Bachelors degree required, MBA and/or experience at an agency is preferred
  • Experience in developing and executing brand strategies in a global, corporate and matrixed organization


Ideal candidate skills:
  • Significant experience leading global brand strategy and global creative campaigns/platforms, working closely with regional/local marketers
  • Experience in and/or passion for driving transformational change and building cultures of excellence
  • Leadership capabilities and executive presence and ability to be effective with senior stakeholders
  • Application of a strong data and analytics capability to inform strategy and measure marketing effectiveness/ROI
  • Strategic thinker and thought leader with a mindset of innovation and intellectual curiosity
  • Agile, adaptable and flexible marketer
  • Collaborative team player
