Job Overview
The Director of Engineering is responsible for managing the overall operation of the engineering and the pool/spa departments for Sunriver Resort. S/he is responsible for maintaining the appearance and working order of all resort facilities. The Director of Engineering will coordinate capital improvement projects throughout the resort. S/he will provide departmental leadership to create a positive work environment, as well as achieving optimum performance.

The Director of Engineering shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. They will be responsible for exemplifying the Sunriver Resort Culture as well as promoting Sunriver Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!
Director of Engineering Essential Functions
-Review and negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers
-Establish and maintain an efficient inventory and purchasing system
-Create and manage departmental budget and forecast
-Develop and implement quality control programs
-Ensure a cost and time effective approach to all projects
-Inspect and review projects to ensure quality and monitor appropriate compliance
-Assure proper certification of all associates and vendors, as required
-Further develop and implement the preventative maintenance program for all resort assets
-Coordinate capital improvement projects throughout the resort
-Develop and implement controls for expense management
-Oversee on-line work order system and ensure work flow is distributed in an efficient manner
-Willing to respond to emergencies and knows his/her role in assisting during critical times
-Operate department pursuant of OSHA requirements and guidelines
-Maintain a working knowledge of all federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations
-Liaison with governmental agencies to ensure compliance with entitlements, permits, inspections, notices and other requirements as necessary
-Provide a strong focus on associate development and training
-Maintain a safe and pleasant work environment
-Review guests feedback with the team to ensure continual focus on guest satisfaction
-Maintain a strong knowledge of facility management and hospitality trends
-Work closely with all resort departments to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction
-Attend appropriate resort, division and department meetings
-Provide general resort information for guests
-Resolve guest issues promptly and with great care and effectiveness
-Maintain a strong morale and spirit throughout engineering team
-Recommend discipline and/or termination when necessary
-Instill a calm, organized approach in all stressful situations
-Offer a warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Sunriver Resort including use of guest name when possible & good eye contact with each guest
-Maintain an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events
-Up sell other resort services and amenities to guests
-Interact with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information
-Always maintains a professional demeanor and attitude
-Communicate all pertinent information to the engineering and pool/spa teams
-Maintain constant awareness of safety issues
-Act with responsibility towards all company property, supplies and equipment.
-Maintain a professional appearance. Follows all Sunriver Resort dress code standards.
-Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all times.
