Job description
Director of Software Engineering Permanent San Francisco, CA (can be 100% remote anywhere in the U.S)
Areas of focus for our Director of Software:
Lead and contribute to all aspects of Juno's software stack, including software frameworks based on Snowflake's DB, simulation tools, and connections to our construction BIM system
Contribute to cross disciplinary optimization considering all aspects from data collection, building design, supply chain, and customer delivery
Manage functional teams to implement strategic goals and initiatives, and coordinate key software based cross-functional work
Coordinate goal-setting and future state roadmap for the company and coordinate teams to work as one unit and within each business unit against those goals
Create and monitor key internal metrics/KPIs to improve business performance and drive strategic direction
Coordinate data collection and management in coordination with data science / technical computing / operational teams in each business unit
Help identify, develop and successfully roll-out improved product experiences, both physically and digitally
Team and Culture:
Work with CTO and other members of leadership to ensure company mission and cultural values are instilled and core to how the company works
Contribute to a positive company culture as an effective listener and leader, and take initiatives that emphasize core values in daily operations
Build a powerhouse operations team as the company grows
Facilitate and manage review cycles, professional development
Drive continuous improvement across functional teams and collaborate with teammates to test hypotheses and translate into action
Work with teams to manage software needs, deployments and training
What we're looking for in a teammate:
Demonstrated track record of delivering software solutions and data collection using highly-parallel cloud based computing
Deep understanding of corporate level software architectures
Experience in software design, collaborating in close loop design teams
Excellent communication skills and ability to lead over complex cross-disciplinary systems
Significant academic and/or industry experience in computer architecture and implementations
10+ years of experience in quality, manufacturing, and software architectures
Clear understanding of production metrics, field data, and quality and reliability data
Experience in design review processes and code reviews
Working knowledge of construction site logistics and data metrics for collecting dataExperience in setting up ERP/PLM systems is a must
Experience CAD systems including BIM design, PLM, and ERP
You are detail-oriented, extremely organized, and capable of dealing with ambiguityYou can translate goals into actionable plans
