Job Summary
Looking for a patient, courteous, and efficient front desk receptionist/office assistant to join the team in a busy primary care office with 2 full time physicians. Duties are related to patient check-in and discharge, rooming patients, handling insurance, answering and returning calls, and relaying medical information. The ideal team member would be adaptable, cooperative, and willing to assist others. MUST be fluent in Cantonese and/or Mandarin, and English.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
PATIENT CARE
· Provide compassionate and exceptional customer service by greeting patients in a friendly, positive, helpful and respectful manner
· Successfully manage patient volume while maintaining high-quality care
· Prepare exam rooms
· Instruct and educate patients about discharge instructions if applicable
· Handle telephone calls from clients, patients, prospective patients, physicians, pharmacies, as well as other staff
· Manages difficult or conflict situations constructively and seeks appropriate assistance. Takes accountability for own actions.
CLERICAL
· Provide accurate and timely documentation to other staff, insurance carriers and companies
· Maintain patient records for clinical use, medical records use, billing use, physicians' review, etc.
· Complete opening and closing procedures
· Assures a clean, orderly, and functional work environment.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required
LANGUAGE SKILLS
· Ability to communicate in English both verbally and written
· MUST be fluent in Cantonese and/or Mandarin; knowledge of medical terminology in Cantonese/Mandarin a plus
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively and courteously deal with telephone calls, patients and families, clients, co-workers and clinical staff
· Knowledge of PC function, Microsoft Office including EHRs/EMRs, and basic office equipment
· Ability to react calmly and effectively
· Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Compensation and Benefits
· Compensation commensurate with experience and competitive within San Francisco, Bay Area
· Comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes: 2 weeks paid vacation, paid medical/dental/vision insurance, worker's compensation.
· 6-month probationary period, no PTO accrued during probationary period.
