Job description
As our Head of People, you will have the opportunity to drive all elements of our People function including recruiting, HR, learning and development, systems and operations, and compliance. You will be a partner to the CEO and leadership team and take on a range of strategic and tactical initiatives in order to influence all aspects of our workforce, promote diversity and inclusion efforts, and built a world class team of human resources and talent professionals. This role reports directly to our CEO.

What You Will Achieve
- You'll develop our recruiting strategy. From how we access diverse talent pools and engage and evaluate candidates, you will ensure that we are continuously improving.
- You'll refine our employer brand and candidate experience. We play the long game and believe that every interaction that someone has with Company is key to the success of how we will be able to scale our team in the future.
- You'll shape our culture and expand our people programs. You'll play a key role in ensuring that we create an incredible employee experience and that teams are able to do their best work.
- You'll help foster a culture of continuous feedback and growth. You will help mature our performance management programs to create a culture of growth and learning.
- You'll ensure we build robust operations and ensure compliance as we scale. You will drive our operational processes and tools required to ensure that we build a strong foundation for growth across compensation, payroll, onboarding, and HR systems.
- You'll unlock opportunities for our team and customers. At Company, you'll be figuring out how to help our team understand and progress their own personal and professional goals. Along the way, our growing team will be able to deliver products that unlock opportunities for business around the country including borrowing money, paying employees, and other critical services. Being successful in this role has a direct relationship to our ability to advance our mission and the value we provide to each of our customers.
Many backgrounds could fit this role, but the ideal candidate:
- Is an experienced people leader. You have years of experience and expertise in people and talent roles. Ideally, you would have built or been an early team members on a talent or people ops team at a high growth startup in the past.
- Approaches problems from first principles. You have deep knowledge about market norms, but think about what's appropriate for our company, and how we can do better than others.
- Is empathetic and team-oriented. You value diversity and go out of your way to ensure everyone feels welcome. You find the right balance of leading from the front, while bringing everyone along for the journey.
- Prioritizes action. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable without fully understanding something before taking action. You focus on creating the best outcomes and are comfortable prioritizing the highest impact solution over the perfect solution.
- Takes pride in their work. You care deeply about your work. You understand each of the levers and mechanics of your domain and find the right balance between quantitative and quantitative insights to inform your path forward.
