Job description

A national law firm in San Francisco, CA is seeking a full-time Real Estate Paralegal

Responsibilities:

* Reviews letters of intent and purchase agreements to manage all aspects of title, survey and zoning due diligence.
* Reviews title reports, underlying recorded title documents, site maps, ALTA land surveys and zoning reports.
* Coordinates closely with title company underwriting counsel team to negotiate clients title insurance policy.
* Review land survey agreements and negotiate terms and scope of the ALTA survey to meet clients requirements and the projects specific needs.
* Must have a strong knowledge of current title insurance customs and practices and understanding of evolving title policy forms and endorsements.
* Prepares transaction schedules, title objection notices, lease estoppels, transaction closing documents, title affidavits, property legal descriptions and complex escrow closing instructions as needed, all in the strict time-frame outlined in the purchase agreement or other transaction documents.
* Maintains close contact with attorneys, paralegals and clients.
* Meets with client to notarize closing documents as needed.
* Reviews commercial leases and prepare lease estoppels.
* Maintains hard copy files and electronic records of the due diligence and transaction closing.
* Communicates closely with client, address client questions and escalate serious concerns with attorneys.

Requirements

* Extensive knowledge of real estate documents, including purchase agreements, leases, miscellaneous contracts, financing statements and submissions.
* Effective time management, prioritizing, decision-making and communication abilities.
* Strong computer technical skills. Proficient in MS Office Suite.
* 5+ years of experience working in a paralegal position with strong real estate experience.
* Bachelors degree and/or a certificate of completion of a paralegal program recognized by a post-secondary institution.
