Job description

The Staff Research Associate, SRA, is part of the Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics, DMPK, team. SRA will contribute to screening chemical compounds in diverse chemical libraries to identify hits leading to the discovery and development of treatments and cures for several neurodegenerative diseases.

Duties:

  • Perform plasma free and brain free fraction measurements
  • Conduct metabolite identification
  • Perform liver microsome and hepatocyte stability measurements
  • Automation and running of liquid handler machines
  • Support PK studies, analyze samples from vivarium

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in a related science and 1+ year lab experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience running microsomal stability and protein binding assays.
  • Proficiency in Outlook and all MS suite software
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational and record keeping skills
  • Enthusiasm, positive outlook, collegiality and scientific curiosity

Preferred Qualifications:

  • LC-MS or HPLC preferred but not required, experience as obtained in school or work
  • Experience with liquid handler equipment such as Tecan preferred but not required

Shift:

  • M-F 8:30am-5pm
