Job Description:
The Bank of America Staff Appraiser will complete non-complex to highly complex residential property appraisal reports for 1 - 4 family residential real estate properties in compliance with Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) guidelines and federal and state appraisal laws ensuring exceptional quality and credibility of appraisal theory and methodology governing residential real property. Candidate will be responsible for real estate data trend management including data collection, verification and analysis of sales, pending sales and listings required for valuation development within a defined service territory. Must be comfortable with working independently and able to triage escalated deliverables and deadlines. Requires State Certification license level and at least 7 to 10 years of appraisal experience.
Required Skills:
• General Certified or Residential Certified Appraiser in good standing with all state requirements
• Minimum of 7-10 years residential appraisal field experience with complex property assignments
• Thorough understanding of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, regulatory guidelines, appraisal theory, and methodology governing residential real property
• Geographic competency of all real estate related trends associated with the valuation area of coverage
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to deliver a clear and understandable message to a variety of audiences
• Effective listening and comprehension skills
• Ability to research, analyze and resolve complex valuation issues
• Ability to make a swift and well-supported decisions
• Comfortable with working independently and able to triage escalated deliverables and deadlines
• Effective organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and maintain production goals
• Valid driver's license and appropriate insurance
• No current, pending, or prior disciplinary action for any State that resulted in suspension, denial, or revocation of appraisal licensing/certification
• Flexible schedule to accommodate borrower client needs
• Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office and keyboarding skills
Desired Skills:
• Risk management and valuation quality assurance experience, mortgage origination, servicing knowledge, underwriting, and title knowledge a plus
• Flexibility to transition to appraisal review work if required
