Job description

Business Overview:

Corporate Credit Management ("CCM") is a transversal Team in support of the approximately 800 Corporate Clients of the North American platform. The CCM Team works to ensure coverage, monitoring & execution of all counterparty risk requests for the Corporate platform. Three functional pillars exist in the Team including:

(1) Corporate Credit Team - consists of the Credit Analyst & Account Management organizations which provide sector/transaction specialized risk monitoring for the Corporate platform

(2) Transaction Management - Front Office liaison Team for all functional Teams. In addition, provides support on complex transaction and project management

(3) Corporate Credit Coordination - coordinates credit process/methodology topics throughout the CCM Team and the Corporate platform

Responsibilities:

• The primary mandate of this role is: 1) to underwrite new transactions for existing clients and prospects including term sheet analysis of revolvers and terms loans formalized in a credit memoranda; 2) to manage an assigned portfolio of Corporate Clients in the Technology space (part of the larger TMT portfolio of the Bank in North America) including periodic review of borrowers' financial statements, covenant compliance reports, press releases and news articles, rating agency and equity analyst reports, industry trends, etc.

• Take primary responsibility for the preparation of cash flow projections associated with new transactions and Leveraged Lending requirements.

• Strong interaction with Bankers (i.e. Coverage), Risk department, and Product Teams (among others, FX, IRD, Commodity, Equity Derivatives, Global Trade Solutions, Loan Capital Markets, and Leveraged Finance Teams) including coordinating the credit process amongst the various Product and Risk Teams to ensure an efficient and smooth turnaround of transactions

• Maintain reporting related to the portfolio including pipeline tracking, exposure tracking, and other general reports

• Interact with internal and external auditors during loan examinations

• Interact with other bank branches to coordinate on client strategy

• Attend bank meetings and/or client calls with the Bankers

• Portfolio consists of US-based IG/non-IG clients ("Pilots") as well as leveraged clients


Competencies:

• Detail oriented with a strong knowledge of financial statement analysis and corporate credit analysis

• Strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage workflow in a changing deadline driven environment

• Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and presentation oriented

• Self-starter with good initiative

• Ability to work in a team structure

• Flexibility to work after hours and weekends as the business demands

• Credibility in interacting with credit process partners (Bankers, Risk, Delegation Holders, HO Presenters); providing input and clarifications during Credit Committee

• Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources into a clear, concise, coherent, convincing and complete document


Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Degree in Finance or Accounting

• Solid knowledge of financial statement analysis and robust fundamental corporate credit analysis skillset

• Good knowledge of general banking products and banking practices including a strong understanding of loan structure, terms and credit agreements

• Advanced projection modeling skills

• Strong business writing skills

• Proficiency in Word and Excel

• Minimum of 5 years of prior experience in corporate banking (preferably in corporate credit management) and/or at rating agencies covering Corporate Clients


Preferred Qualifications:

• Master in Finance and/or MBA

• CFA (or CFA candidacy)

• Completion of formal credit training courses
