Job Summary:

The Materials Supervisor is responsible for leading the procurement team's material flow for all production lines in the San Jose manufacturing facility, coordinating closely with our Shanghai manufacturing facility and our service department to help meet our company's materials key performance indicators, and for instrument order fulfillment globally. They will own key metrics including inventory reduction, part shortage reduction, freight savings, cycle count write off reduction, and on-time-delivery.

Key Responsibilities Include:

* Own Inventory to achieve our company's Inventory reduction and On Time Delivery targets to ensure our company meets or exceeds its metrics
* Mentoring/leading Materials team though performance & development objectives, holding daily management meetings, and driving high engagement scores to build a working environment that encourages the team for efficient performance
* Reduce freight costs, work order variances, PO Liability, and cycle count write offs to help improve company profit margins
* Create Supplier lead time reduction funnel (as well as applying VSM, TPI, PSPs tools and Kaizens) to continuously generate ideas that become action plans you will drive the team to execute to help achieve inventory targets
* Drive part shortage reduction (frequency and time) through root cause analysis to allow production to achieve their build plan schedule

Qualifications:

* B.S. degree or equivalent work experience
* Minimum of 3 years of buying & planning experience
* Minimum of 1 year in leadership role or equivalent experience
* 2+ years of experience using Oracle

Skills and Attributes

* Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, and simple formulas)
* Strong attention to detail
