The Consumer Lending team partners with other businesses across Wells Fargo to create and deliver transformational experiences that help customers gain access to credit. The vision for the Consumer Lending business is to leverage technology and data to make it simple for customers to easily access credit when and where they need it. Consumer Lending serves customers across the country through our distribution network of more than 5,300 retail banking branches and Home Lending offices, as well as online and digital channels.

The Mortgage Change Performance Consultant will prepare mortgage production managers to successfully lead and sustain change, achieve desired performance results and be an extension of the manager in support of their teams. Responsible for the logistics and execution (including delivery) of provided change management plan; may participate in the onboarding activities of new team members and managers. Advises on the implications and risks of proposed change management plan; makes recommendations on factors that may impact change adoption and sustainability. Analyzes performance trends; engaged in action planning and executing action plan based on specific gaps or needs identified by production managers. Inspect for adherence to national standards and provide feedback to production managers when there are deviations from standards. Leverage appropriate escalation paths when risks or issues are identified. Once in role, team members are to be fully knowledgeable on the home lending regulations, risk, compliance, technology, process, and controls.

The Mortgage Change Performance Consultant is aligned to our distributed sales team and responsible for sustaining and improving performance by proactively identifying emerging trends and creating action plans to improve performance. Responsible for planning and implementing risk, operational, and compliance related programs or projects that support retail regulatory and operational strategies such as audit policies and procedures, customer experience, compliance, risk management, and performance monitoring and tracking.

  • Completes analyses, measures effectiveness, and recommends activities and strategies.
  • Experience facilitating and delivering training or other related facilitation experience such as group meetings or presentations
  • Collaborates with internal partners to maximize operational soundness with emphasis on compliance and risk management in support of strategic initiatives while managing service quality to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.
  • Strategically supports Sales priorities in Objectives & Key Results
  • Supports & assists with onboarding new hires
  • Provides coaching & upskilling on customer acquisition, retention, and marketing tools
  • Actively educates Sales teams on "Digital Experience" & technology capabilities

**Preferred location is San Jose, CA, however we are open to considering other locations within Market 20.

Salary range is determined by the location of the job

The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.

CA-San Jose: Min: $75,800 Mid: $106,800 Max: $137,800

May be considered for discretionary bonus



Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of financial services experience
  • 2+ years experience in one or a combination of the following: sales, operations or production risk

  • 1+ year experience with CORE, yourLoanTracker technology
  • Experience applying new technologies to business needs in a technologically innovative, change driven organization
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of home lending regulations, risks, compliance, and controls
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across a matrixed organization
  • Ability to effectively partner and influence at the executive level
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
  • Experience facilitating and delivering training or other related facilitation experience such as group meetings or presentations
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience driving and leading organizational change in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to analyze information, interpret results, identify trends and recommend solutions
  • Functional knowledge and understanding of analytical methods used to: reconcile, interpret, and present results
  • Demonstrated strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel


Job Expectations

  • This position requires compliance with all mortgage regulatory requirements and Wells Fargo's compliance policies related to these requirements including acceptable background check investigation results. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and required reporting of certain incidents.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
