Banking, Lending, & Trust is a center of excellence that brings teams and functions currently found across WIM's consumer businesses under a common, WIM-level organization. The group is focused on transforming from channel-based to client-focused solutions and delivery in an effort to reduce operational risk, improve efficiency, increase consistency/coordination, and bring focus on product management / development to deliver innovative growth and improve the client experience. Additionally, the new group will deliver a WIM-level culture of product management excellence by creating a culture of innovation, product excellence, client service and risk mitigation.

Wealth Management Bankers within Banking, Lending, & Trust (BL&T) are skilled banking specialists responsible for managing, servicing, and growing relationships with wealthy clients. Client-facing and located in-market, they partner with Wealth & Investment Management (WIM) Relationship Managers (RMs) within the Client Relationship Group and other Specialists to provide deep banking expertise to help create, grow, and maintain client wealth.

Wealth Management Bankers are responsible for strong risk management in the complex wealth client banking business. They guide Relationship Managers (RM's) and wealthy clients in navigating banking scenarios, including complex asset and entity structures and multi-family relationships. Wealth Management Bankers represent the highest standards of integrity, partnership, client focus, and operational excellence.

Wealth Management Banker role:

  • Client-facing wealth banking specialists work directly with clients in coordination with RM's
  • Responsible for deepening and broadening relationships with HNW and UHNW clients to help grow WIM and Wells Fargo enterprise business
  • Maintain strong communication and collaboration with RM's and other Specialists
  • Wealth Management Bankers are located with RM's in-market
  • Advise HNW and UHNW clients, RM's, and other Specialists on appropriate banking and credit solutions while considering client balance sheet, cash flow, and planning objectives
  • Deliver full array of banking, treasury management, and consumer products and services to HNW and UHNW clients
  • Work hand in hand with RM's in WIM Client Relationship Group to serve wealthy clients
  • Manage, service, and grow assigned client relationships so that clients and RM's know their Wealth Management Banker
  • Execute banking and consumer credit transactions
  • Responsible for credit, operational, compliance, and regulatory risk adherence associated with all banking products and clients
  • Provide banking product, service, and support to RM's when acquiring new clients
  • Advise clients, RM's, and specialists on digital banking and enhanced service alternatives, for example, On Line Banking, The Private Bank service team, and Client Associate
  • Educate clients, RM's, and Specialists on fraud prevention, such as one-time passcode, digital authentication, and electronic solutions
  • Coordinate with RM's and other Specialists to soundly and proactively manage high-risk client relationships and products


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: Private Banking, Wealth Management, or Consumer Banking
  • Successfully completed FINRA Series 7 and 66 exams to qualify for immediate registration



Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent sales and relationship management skills
  • Strong credit skills
  • Knowledge of traditional bank products and referral partnerships
  • Insurance licenses for designated insurance lines, considering state law restrictions



Job Expectations

  • Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. In addition state registration, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA review process at the time of offer acceptance.
  • This position requires SAFE registration at the time of employment. Wells Fargo will initiate the SAFE registration process immediately after your employment start date. The Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) web site ( ) provides the MU4R questions and registration required for employment in this position.
  • Individuals in Loan Originator (LO) positions must meet the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements and comply with related Wells Fargo policies. The LO qualification requirements include meeting applicable financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness and criminal background standards. A current credit report will be used to assess your financial responsibility and credit fitness, however, a credit score is not included as part of the evaluation. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening, if necessary.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
