The Underwriting Assistant role is responsible for supporting the underwriting operations in the San Juan Capistrano office. This position will serve as support for the Mobile Home Parks and Mobile Home Owners teams. This role will also provide assistance and training to our Customer Service Center and Agents, in addition to supporting the day-to-day underwriting process.

Responsibilities
- Liaison for the customer service center as they work to answer Agent questions and provide necessary support
- Provide Underwriting/System and Procedural support to Agents and Marketing as needed on a daily basis
- Provide assistance, direction & training on our underwriting/customer Service/endorsement & cancellation processes. Includes how to handle Agent & Insured calls/submissions/exceptions and problematic issues.
- Communicate any and all underwriting and or procedural changes at the direction of the Underwriting Manager
- Conduct audits on the underwriting processes being completed
- Conduct audits on all policy forms/letters/installments, etc. that are system generated
- Review and Respond to all Insured/Agent complaints made directly to the company regarding underwriting, cancellations, endorsements and Customer Service as directed
- Provide input to the Product Manager on Underwriting Guidelines/Procedures & forms
- Confer with Claims/Legal personnel regarding underwriting/cancelation/endorsement/agent issues as requested
- Communicate/resolve with agency marketing staff on all claims issues that arise
- Communicate any and all systems needs/changes/bugs to our IT department as directed
- Other duties as needed in support of Underwriting, Sales, and Customer Service.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent years of experience acceptable
- Minimum 2 years of related experience
- P&C Insurance experience preferred
