Gilead is seeking a dynamic leader to lead its Collaborations Accounting team.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end collaborations accounting, reporting, and forecasting process
- Lead the review of new collaboration/alliance agreements and manage relevant financial activities (e.g. accounting, reporting, and payments related to milestones, cost share, royalties and other contractual rights and obligations)
- Responsible for producing management reporting and business insights for senior leadership and various stakeholders
- Work closely with Alliance Management, Corporate Development, FP&A and various internal/external business partners
- Collaborate with cross-functional business partners to identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities and/or optimize collaborations accounting operations
- Lead and/or develop a high-performing team where inclusion and diversity of thought are leveraged for innovation and continuous improvement
- Coordinate and manage internal and external audits and reviews
- Lead/support other company and/or CFO organization initiative and projects
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
Important skills, capabilities and prior experience requirements include:
- BA/BS degree and 12+ years of relevant experience or MA/MS with 10 years of relevant experience
- Technical accounting skills required
- Experience developing and managing teams
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Attention to detail, organized and thorough
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership
- Ability to adapt to and be flexible in a fast-paced environment
- Experienced with systems (e.g., Alliant, Oracle/SAP, Hyperion) is preferred
- CPA or MBA with hands-on operational experience in collaboration and alliance arrangements is preferred
- Big 4 experience is desired
- Experience in a Life Sciences company is a plus
