Job description
Job Description
As a Library RFID Tagging Technician, you will work alongside a project team encoding and applying new radio frequency identification (RFID) tags to items within the collections of the MARINet Libraries. In this role, you are responsible for ensuring that an assigned section within the collection has been fully tagged and those tags properly encoded. It is also required that you maintain a certain level of quality and productivity to ensure that project work is completed accurately and on schedule.
Each day the Library RFID Tagging Technician will be assigned a section of the collection to work on by a supervisor. Equipped with an RFID conversion cart, beginning with the first item, you will apply a new RFID tag to each item, encode the tag with the item's barcode number, and replace the item back on the shelf neatly and in order as it was found. This process is repeated for the entire collection until every item has been tagged.
Part-time positions (20 hours per week) may be considered. The project is expected to last roughly 15 weeks ending in February. Once the project is completed, regardless of final completion date, the position will end. Part-time breaks depend on individual schedules.
Actual work location will change throughout the project as multiple libraries are being processed within the scope of the project; all worksites are located within Marin County (Belvedere Tiburon Library, College of Marin Library, Mill Valley Public Library, San Rafael Public Library, Pickleweed Library, Sausalito Public Library, and San Anselmo Public Library).
