Job description

Robert Half is seeking a Sourcing Manager to be a part of the Sourcing team specializing in Marketing, Travel and Events. The functions and responsibilities of this team support the goods/services sourcing and contracting function of our centralized Procurement organization. Seeking an individual chiefly with Marketing experience, but as well Travel/Meetings/Events experience is a plus. Align with internal business partners to establish and manage relationships with suppliers for the purpose of sourcing and/or contracting goods and services. Seeks to improve cost and process efficiencies and ensure the quality of vendor relationships while providing creative solutions to meet best business practice and business need. Establishes and builds relationships with business partner groups and maintains business knowledge to understand and develop analytics and recommendations relating to sourcing opportunities. Leads the sourcing process from bid preparation to contract execution, partnering with subject matter experts from the business team to document requirements and ensuring compliance with company policies including subcontracting plans and requirements. In collaboration with company Legal counsel and the business teams, negotiate and execute contracts with suppliers, ensuring pricing, terms & conditions, performance requirements and service delivery terms are in line with company standards.

Sourcing

* Provide collaboration on sourcing initiatives and supplier evaluations centric to Marketing, and Travel & Events for internal business teams or as needed for the organization. Will prepare formal bid requests, RFx documents with requirements/specifications and provide guidance to business teams on criteria for decision-making. Review and analyze responses, preparing final analysis to include, but not limited to, score card, supplier short-listing, and reference checking.
* Using experience and judgement, provide final recommendation to business team and in some cases, may be responsible for final decision on award of business.
* Will participate in networking, conferences and tradeshows (considering existing travel guidelines and limitations) to proactively seek out, research and evaluate potential sources of goods/services suppliers.

Contract Review / Negotiation

* Independently and/or collaboratively review and negotiate contracts and related documents with suppliers.
* Lead negotiation of contract terms including pricing, deal structure and all other terms and conditions (in collaboration with legal when needed). Will partner with legal counsel and business teams to develop negotiation strategy, with the goal of minimizing risk and maximizing value.
* Partner with departments (legal, business team, IT) and provide guidance and recommendations on resolution of contract issues with material risk or cost impacts.

Customer Relationship Management

* Develop and manage internal business team customer relationships with regular business reviews to discuss supplier performance, business goals and future business needs.
* Serve as a consultant to the business team by providing recommendations and guidance on supplier relations, deal structure concepts, and sourcing strategies.

Commodity Management

* Identify trends, anomalies, unmanaged suppliers, etc. to target areas of opportunity for further review.
* Gather information from order history and business teams on potential cost drivers and to forecast demand. May utilize other category management tools including market research and analysis and price / service level benchmarking to develop specific and targeted sourcing strategies.

Qualifications:

* BS/BA in Business or related field preferred.
* Negotiation and contract law courses preferred.
* 3+ years of sourcing/procurement and contract negotiation experience preferred.
* Must be proficient with Word and Excel.
* Software as a Service (SaaS) contracting experience greatly desired.
* Software Licensing metric concept knowledge desired.
* Ability to interpret, proofread and edit legal/contractual documents.
* Negotiation and relationship management skills.
* Ability to analyze problems and situations and provide innovative ideas and solutions.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, establishing networks across the organization.
* Communicate effectively with all levels of management both orally and in writing and provide sound rationale for recommendations.
